Elbert Carreker Jr

Elbert Carreker Jr., age 84, began his journey on June 24,1926 in Columbus Ohio to the late Elbert and Lucy Jane Carreker Sr. On Monday May 9, 2011 he took his eternal rest at Isabelle Ridgeway Care Center at 11pm. BoBo, as he was affectionately known, attended Columbus Public Schools and was employed as a construction worker. At an early age he was a member of Refuge Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev R F Harrison Sr. He was an avid sports fan, enjoying baseball, basketball (a diehard LA Lakers fan) not to mention his thrill of boxing. One of his greatest joys was going to watch his nephew, Judge, box; never missing a boxing event. BoBo sought to live a life that brought him peace, prosperity and joy. He was a man who never mixed his words; you always knew exactly where he stood, his views, his standard and most of all his compassion and generosity of his love. He set the standard of how a brother should love, protect cherish and honor his sisters. Their call was always met with the out pouring of his support. Not to mention his great joy in providing them lavish gifts. This type of giving heart spilled over onto others he knew and loved. So today we reflect and will always remember his life his legacy and his love. BoBo is proceeded in death by his parents, Elbert and Lucy Jane Carreker Sr; sisters, Jo ann Carter and Daisy Mae Riggins; nephews, Herbert -Tuffy Riggins and Wesley Carreker; niece, Nigeria Riggins all of Columbus, Ohio. He leaves to cherish his memory sons, Eric Carreker and Steven Maddox; nephews, Clifford-Poochie (Constance) Riggins and Wallace-Judge Riggins; great nephews, Kevin Watson, Shane (Alice), Shawn (Devon), Chaughntai Riggins and Che Riggins; great nieces, Charlena Paulin and Marsha' e Randell; grandson, Anthony Alexander, all of Columbus, Ohio and host of great great nieces, nephew, cousins, loved ones and friends.
