Elinor Jane Henderson

“Remembering My Life……..I Did it My Way.” Elinor Jane Henderson was the 9th child born to the late Frank and Edna (Allen) Green in Cols, Ohio on June 6, 1923. After one last family gathering over a weekend, she finished her race and transitioned back to her Heavenly Father on December 23, 2021. Elinor Jane was reared in the Columbus Public Schools system. She continued her education and mastered the skill of cooking and baking for many years. She also worked as a baker at several bakeries throughout Columbus, Ohio. Her love for baking pastries was known by all that knew her and it lasted for many years. Elinor went on to work for the Columbus Board of Education, where she retired after many years of service. Her love for the Lord was apparent. She would read the entire bible within one year and continued to do so for many years. Being a member of Union Grove Baptist Church, where Elinor Jane received a 50-year membership award. She was also a member of the Eastern Stars. Elinor will forever live in the hearts of her beloved children. Preceding her in death was her son Roscoe Victor Willis, Granddaughter Tanya Willis, and ten siblings. She is survived by her daughters Brenda Willis, Joanne (Jerry) Smith and Edna Stewart. Grandchildren Crystal Willis, Keith (Ericca) Willis, Darren (Denise) Agurs, Jerry Smith Jr., Michael (Georgia) Stewart, and Alethia Stewart, many great grandchildren, one brother Clarence (Veronica) Green, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. “For I am already poured out like a drink offering, and the time has come for my departure. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge will award to me on that day----and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.” II Timothy 4: 6-8.
