Ella Frances Whitehead

Ella Frances Whitehead was born February 25, 1947, to Alice Drake Whitehead and Charles Hill Whitehead, Sr. in Battleboro, North Carolina. While growing up in Battleboro, Ella received her formal education in the public school system and graduated from Phillips High School. She later moved to Columbus, Ohio where she faithfully served her Lord and her community as a devoted member of World Harvest Church. Ella retired from The Ohio State University after 32 years of employment. Ella departed this earthly life on Tuesday, April 24, 2012 at her residence in Canal Winchester, Ohio. She was predeceased by her parents and one brother Godfrey R. Whitehead. She is survived by her beloved son Shawn T. (Maxine) Whitehead of Fort Knox, Kentucky; grandchildren, Javon T. Whitehead of Columbus, Georgia, Stephanie Hull of Fort Drum, New York, Fatin Rhone of Fort Lee, Virginia, and Tiffany Rhone of Fort Knox, Kentucky; great grandchildren Maleah Hall and Lamont Hall, both of Fort Drum, New York; sisters, Annie Mae (Stanley) Hawkins of Columbus, Ohio, Andrance (Dr. William) James of Louisville, Kentucky, Luedella (Alfonza) Dickens of Temple Hills, Maryland, Alice (Jerome) Lewis of Rocky Mount, North Carolina, and Mattie (Linwood) Thorne of Raleigh, North Carolina; brothers, Charles Whitehead, Jr. of Newark, New Jersey, Alexander Whitehead, James (Mamie) Whitehead, and Johnny (Helen) Whitehead, all of Battleboro, North Carolina; very dear friend Mrs. Mary Ford of Columbus, Ohio; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
