Elsie M. 'Mother ' Stanley

Elsie M. Stanley, 94, affectionately called Mother Stanley, was born on May 12, 1920 in Nelson Georgia. She transitioned from here to her heavenly home early Wednesday morning, July 16, 2014. She was a faithful member of Mt. Olivet Baptist Church for over 50 years. Preceded in death by her sister Mildred Green; brothers Odell, James, Robert and Frederick Langston; granddaughter Shamika Stanley and grandson Melvin Stanley, Jr. She leaves to cherish her memory, daughter, Edith Stanley Zaahir; sons, Charles E. Stanley, Joseph W. Stanley, Sr., and Melvin L. Stanley; sister, Brenda (Paul) Honeker; grandchildren, Kenneth F. (Kelly) Stanley, Qismat (Carlos) Pickens, Shawndu Stanley, Deatra Brown, C.J. Stanley, Ghitana Stanley, Ebony Stanley, Joseph Stanley, Jr., Essence and Indigo Stanley; very special and devoted friend Eleanor Young.
