Mrs. Elsie Williams was born April 14, 1933 to the late Rev. Cecil C. and Sarah Ann Thigpen. She departed her life on May 7, 2016 at 6:30pm, at Winchester Place (formerly Kindred) in Canal Winchester, Ohio. She and her family came to Columbus in 1949. She worked some jobs, but most importantly she raised their daughter Veronica, she was a stay at home mom. She later went to work for the Columbus Public Schools in the Food Service Area in 1976, for which she retired after 16 years, working the last 15 years at Marion ¬Franklin High School. Mrs. Elsie Williams (Thigpen) was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Mr. Hollis Williams on December 27th, 1952. Preceding her in death her husband, Hollis (who recently died on 11/14/2015); her parents; brothers-Gable, A.C. Willie Lee Thigpen and Sister Lucille Cater. She leaves to mourn her passing her only child-daughter Veronica (Ronnie) Lee Williams: special nephew, Jimmie Lee (Barbara) Williams: sister-in-law Mrs. Clara Thipgen; and host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
