Emogene (Mcadoo) Palmore-Berry

August 8, 1928 — June 3, 2020

On Tuesday, June 3 2020, Emogene (McAdoo) Palmore Berry loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, went home to be with the Lord peacefully at age 91. A steadfast servant for the Lord, Emogene, known affectionately as “Jean-Jean” was born on August 8, 1928 in Columbus Ohio. Emogene graduated from Columbus East High School in 1946. Emogene started her civil service career of 20+ years at the Defense Supply Center Columbus and married Robert Palmore Jr in 1948. Emogene also worked for the Ohio Attorney General, Lee Fisher, in the Consumer Protection Division; Emogene was a member of the Les Madames Social Club and served as a Sunday School teacher at Trinity Baptist Church for several decades. For over 10 years Emogene was a church representative for the Lott Carey Global Ministry Convention. Once widowed, Emogene married William W Berry in 2005 and was appointed Trinity Baptist Church Deaconess in 2005. Emogene had many good neighbors and friends from St. Clair Avenue, S. Champion Avenue, Kelton Avenue and Waterfall Lane. For years anyone who visited her home could always expect a warm meal, a slice of homemade pound cake and a Pepsi. Her earthly walk with God inspired strangers, friends, her children, and their children. The family is thankful for Emogene’s peaceful transition back to God Almighty. Emogene is preceded in death by mother, Mozelle Ivery; first husband, Robert A Palmore; and second husband, William H Berry. Emogene is survived by sister-in-law, Mary Moore; brother-in-law, Kenneth Palmore; daughter, Dannette M Palmore; sons, Steven (Leslie) Palmore and Kevin M Palmore; grandchildren, Erika (Mark) Clark-Jones, Seth (Sharon) Clark, Sheronda Palmore, Marcus (Abigail) Palmore, Adam Palmore, and Marley Palmore; great-grandchildren, D.
