Estella Wynee 'Stella' 'Neeta' King

Estella Wynee King, affectionately known also as “Stella” or “Neeta”, was born November 18, 1962 to Charles and Gladys King in Rome, Georgia. She was one of six children. Stella was educated in The Columbus Public School System. After graduating from Beechcroft High School, she continued her studies at DeVry University. She maintained a place on the Dean's List throughout her college career and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science. After graduating, Stella went to work at Checkfree Corporation where she worked as a Balancing Specialist and Returns Group Leader. In 1995, Stella was employed by Huntington National Bank where she maintained various positions within the company, including Supervisor, Cash Desk, where she was responsible for keeping more than 600 banking offices in balance, and Operations Customer Service Specialist. During her 18 years with the company, Estella’s focus had always been to provide service excellence. Stella recognized the importance of giving back to the community through her support of various charitable organizations and fundraising events, such as the United Way of Central Ohio and Operation Feed. Stella was unique strong and independent person who always strived to attain excellence in everything she did. She was a great encourager to her family and others she came in contact with; she would believe in them even when they didn't believe in themselves. In every situation Estella faced, she faced it with the determination to win and she always expressed her gratitude to her parents for always believing in her. Stella loved to shop (especially for shoes) and travel. She would always say to her sister, Cyndi, “Girl, where do we want to go next?” Stella will be missed truly by her family and loved ones. Stella departed this life on Wednesday, February 13, 2013. She is preceded in death by her mother Gladys King, her grandparents Roy and Willie Mae King and Ida Mae and Charlie Jack Johnson. Stella leaves to cherish her memory her father Deacon Charles King; sisters Sylvia Watkins-Miller (Sonny) and Cynthia “Cyndi” King, both of Ohio; brothers Willie King, Charles (Barnard) King, both of Ohio, and Billy Johnson of Atlanta, Georgia; uncles Corneilous King of Ohio and Morris King of Rome, Georgia; aunts Jewell King and Neoma Hill, both of Cartersville, Georgia; nephew Ronald McConnell of Columbus, Ohio; and a host of other relatives and friends.
