Eugenia Massey

Eugenia Massey (Tinsley), was born on April 4, 1945 in Columbus, Ohio to Mae Eliza and Bailer Tinsley, Jr. She departed peacefully into eternal rest on Thursday, January 12, 2023 with her family by her bedside, holding her daughter’s hand.

Eugenia, a native of Columbus, Ohio was married to her husband Eugene Massey. Three children were born of their union: Rhonda Jean, Lisa Marie, and Kimberly Lynn. They fostered many children in their home for many years.

She was raised up in church at Second Shiloh Baptist Church where she attended and serviced for many years. She was employed at Mercy Hospital for until the hospital closed. She enjoyed playing cards, bingo, pulling instants, and going to the casino. She was always ready to pose for a picture no matter where she was at.

Eugenia is preceded in death by her parents and siblings, William Tinsley, Brenda Alexander, Charlotte Lee, and Bailer (Buddy)Tinsley.

She is survived by her devoted husband Eugene Massey; daughters: Rhonda Massey, Lisa Wilkerson (Charles -Chris), and Kimberly Massey; grandchildren: Marshawn Massey (Christin), Keith Massey, Kenneth Hudson, Jr. (Diana) of Middletown, NY, Tyrell Massey (Dyamond Gordon), Tiara Massey, Troy Bowman, Sherece Wilkerson, Christopher Wilkerson, and Tory Bowman; brothers: Michael Tinsley and Charles (Aarifa) Umrani; sister: Betty Tinsley; 11 great-grandchildren; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
