Eula Louise Horton-Moore

E. Louise Horton-Moore, age 83, passed away on October 12, 2012 at Broadview Health Center. She was born Eula Louise Albert to the late John and Maggie Albert in Spelter, West Virginia. She was the only girl of five siblings and was her father’s pride and joy. She was married to the late William D. Horton, Sr. for fourteen years. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband; son, William D. Horton, Jr.; and her brothers, Richard, James and John Albert. E. Louise sang in the church choir and later developed the group “The Albert Singers” with her father and brothers. E. Louise received her B.A. in Business Education from Tuskegee Institute and later a B.A in Accounting from Fenn College. She utilized these skills working for the Elmer J. Whiting and Associates accounting firm and later at Cleveland Job Corps for twenty six years, where she enjoyed teaching the students until her retirement in 1994. She received numerous awards including Teacher of the Year four times. Her motto was “Let everything be done decently and in order.” 2 Cor. 14:10. E. Louise was a faithful member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Bethel Chapter No. 58 for 49 years. She served her chapter for eighteen consecutive years as Worthy Matron, Financial and Recording Secretary. In 1994 she reached the highest position that can be afforded to a woman; Grand Worthy Matron of Amaranth Grand Chapter, Inc. for the State of Ohio, Prince Hall Affiliate. She was a member of the Midwest Les Amies Club, consisting of Grand Worthy Matrons, Grand Associate Matrons and Past Grand Matrons of eight states. In addition, she was a member of the Daughters of Isis, PHA, where she was crowned Miss El Hasa, of Court No. 47 and crowned the 1st Queen for the Desert of Ohio. E. Louise leaves to cherish her memory her beloved daughter, Sondra L. Yates (Frederick, Jr., deceased); grandchildren, Adrienne M. Yates, Frederick Yates, III; William Jenkins and Constance Perry; great-grandchildren, Anthony, Jaeda, Jaelee Yates, William, Jr.; Shanii Jenkins and Melvin Lee; nieces, Dr. Melissa Albert, Debra Albert, Kim Donaldson (Gregory); nephews, Keith Albert, Brian Albert (Tonya) and James Albert, Jr.; sisters-in-law, Carolyn Albert Pride, Mary Albert, Gladys Albert Evans and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
