Frances Elizabeth Sartor Hicks was born June 5th, 1920 in Union South Carolina, Frances was a member of St Mark A.M.E Church, a missionary at her home church, St Peters A.M.E in Weirton West Virginia and she was member of Friendship Chapter #45 Order of The Eastern Star, P.H.A. Frances was formerly employed at Belleview Hospital in Long Island, NY as a Chambermaid. Frances departed this life on January 27, 2012 following a lengthy illness at the age of 91. Frances is preceded in death by her parents Jonas and Tannie Sartor, Brothers; James, Robert, Frank, and Bill Sartor. Sisters; Mattie Giles, Easter Jones, and Lillie Moore. Husbands; Gilliam Curenton of Weirton, West Virginia, and Francis (Mister) Hicks of Long Island, New York. Nephew, Edward Sartor, Nieces, Frances Scott and Janie Ruth Ware, Grandson, Andre Curenton, and Great Granddaughter, Marricha Johnson. She leaves to mourn her daughters; Doris C Bowers of Columbus, Joyce Summers of Steubenville, and Betty Jo Allen also of Columbus, One Brother; Eugene Sartor of Ashbury Virginia. 9 Grandchildren, 46 Great Grandchildren, 18 Great-Great Grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and close family friends. Special thanks to Granddaughter Marla Sims-Johnson and Teresa Tolliver for her care during her illness.
