Frances Lee Brown

Frances Lee Brown was born on June 10, 1937 to Leola Benefield and Eddie Hayes at Hillman Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama. France's mother, Leola, died shortly after giving birth to her. Frances was then raised by her maternal grandparents, Annie Mae (Miller) Benefield and George Benefield. She was very much loved by her grandparents and many aunts, uncles and cousins, and was especially close to her cousin, Roosevelt Dorman. Frances married James Earl White, in 1953, in Birmingham, Alabama, where she had her one and only daughter Denise, and a son James Reginald. Then, she and her family moved to Youngstown, Ohio, where she had two more sons, Edward Charles and Anthony. On August 25, 2020, at the age of 83, Frances passed away while at The Ohio State University - Wexner Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio. In addition to her mother, Frances was preceded in death by her father and stepmother, Edna Hayes. She is survived by her four children, Denise "Necie" White, James Reginald "Reggie" White, Edward Charles "Ed" (Alicia) White and Anthony "Tony" White; daughter-in-law Patrice "Kim" Johns; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren: Jannetta Regina "Gina" White and her son, Jabrill White; LaKeesha Denise "Keesha" White; Cory Maurice White; Brandon Charles (Kathleen) White and their three children, Declan Callaghan White, Delaney Kiera White, and Caden McNeela White; Airris Jannell White; Bryson Chad (Renita) White and their son, Jackson Avery White; and Isaiah R. White; and a host of other relatives and friends.
