Frances Lee Scranton, 85, of Plain City went home to be with the Lord on November 8, 2010. Born May 30, 1925 in Belton, Texas to the late Harold and Sophia (Riggs) Burdett. Preceded in death by husband of 56 years Leroy H. Scranton. Survived by her loving and devoted children; Leroy Scranton Jr., Darryl (Bonnie) Scranton, Marianne Stewart and Kencil Scranton; grandchildren, Karen (Ahmed) Clark, KaSandra Clark, Dawn Scranton, Amanda Scranton, Darbey Dorst, Aramis Scranton, Jordan Scranton and Dominick Scranton; 8 great grandchildren; aunt, Rose Brown; and special friend, Don Brown. Frances was the Valedictorian of her Class of 1941 at Dunbar High School in Texas, later working at DCSC for 52 years as Deputy Director. Frances received many awards, including the 1988 Congressional “Excalibur” award which only one of 6 was presented to federal employees. She was also inducted in 1999 to the Defense Logistics Agency Hall of Fame and on May 25, 2005 into the DSCC Hall of Fame.
