Frankie Stockton Sr

June 4, 1957 — November 25, 2014

Frankie Lee Stockton, Sr. was born June 4, 1957, to James D. Stockton and Sylvia A. Young Stockton in Welch, West Virginia. A native of McDowell County, he attended school in Northfork, West Virginia, where he received a diploma in Electronics from Northfork High School in 1977. Many of Frankie's loved ones and friends knew him more affectionately as Lee-Lee. A lover of football, he played for the Northfork Blue Demons in high school and was an avid fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes and the New York Giants. He served in the United States Army as a radio repairman. His active duty tour included Fort Carson, Colorado and Honolulu, Hawaii. When his enlistment period ended in 1982, Frankie was honorably discharged and he relocated, with his family, to Columbus, Ohio. He was a twenty-five year employee of Techneglas (previously known as OI-NEG), where he worked as a Quality Analyst until the company closed. He later began a career as a truck driver for University Trucking before becoming disabled in 2013. His CB radio handle was Redbud. Frankie was a member of New Salem Baptist Church; however, due to his health, he was unable to attend services regularly. On Tuesday, November 25, 2014, Frankie's pain and suffering from a stroke ended at home when he answered the call to come home for eternal rest and peace with our Father God. His parents preceded him in death. A lifetime of memories will be forever cherished by his high school sweetheart and devoted wife of thirty-five years, Karen T. Stockton; sons, Frankie L. Stockton, Jr. and Thomas L. Stockton; sisters, Constance Johnson, Arlethia Craighead, and Yvonne Stockton, all of Columbus, Ohio; brothers, James D. Stockton of California, William K, (Sadie) Stockton, and Reginald Stockton, both of Columbus; special people in his heart including his aunts, Elizabeth Ms. Liz Stockton and Betty (Clarence) Stockton, both of Trenton, New Jersey; nephew, Robert Ponder of Columbus; and a host of other relatives and dear friends.
