Gail Lauderdale Milner, went home to be with the Lord on May 1, 2024 in Bexley, Ohio. Born in Columbus, Ohio on February 27, 1948, Gail graduated from The Ohio State University and earned a Master’s degree in Library Science from Kent State University. She spent over three decades as a librarian for the Columbus Metropolitan Library, including as branch manager for the Shepard Library and Whetstone Library. Gail accepted Christ at an early age at Wayne Avenue Church of God and later became a steadfast member of First Church of God where she was a member of the Women's Usher Board and volunteered in the Food Pantry. An avid reader, Gail enjoyed traveling, had a sharp sense of humor, and was active in the Red Hat Society. She was a devoted caregiver to her parents Alfonso and Ella Mae (Parker) Lauderdale during their final years.
Gail is predeceased by her parents and her beloved sister, Dr. Gloria Lauderdale. She leaves to cherish her memory her brother Dwight (Minnie) Lauderdale of The Villages, Florida; and a host of relatives and friends. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, June 25 at First Church of God, 3480 Refugee Rd, Columbus, OH. The family will receive friends beginning at 10 a.m., until the start of service at 11:00 a.m.
