Gaultney Melvin 'Golie' Sherrill

Gaultney Melvin “Golie” Sherrill, 83, born July 13, 1932 in Statesville, NC, passed away December 31, 2015 at his Columbus residence. An honorably discharged veteran of the U.S. Air Force, he was employed by Owens-Illinois Glass Manufacturers for nearly 50 years. Golie was a kindhearted and caring person, who always helped to ensure the needs of his family were met. Preceded in death by parents, Hilda (Dacons) and Edward A. Sherrill, and brothers, Edward Jr. and Thomas. Survived by brothers, Donald J., William A., and Darryl K. Sherrill; and a host of other relatives and friends.
