George Milton Collins passed away on September 27, 2022 at the age of 91. The LORD granted him both a long and full life. George lived his life in a manner characterized by love and generosity.
George, was a proud alumni of Tuskegee University, located in Alabama, where he graduated with a bachelors degree in Chemistry. He became a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity as a student and later became a Lifetime Member. His career in the United States Airforce covered a span of 20 years from 1951 to 1971. He served in both the Korean and Vietnam wars as a navigator. George retired at the rank of Captain. In his latter years, he faithfully attended Asbury United Methodist Church and considered the congregation to be an extension of his family.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 63 years, Blanche Collins; parents, Fred and Cleo Johnson; and his brothers, William “Bill” and Francis.
Survived by his sons, Ronald (Paula) Collins and Reginald Collins; daughter, Cleo (Robert) Jones; grandchildren, Masai Collins, Jamin (Alicia) Collins, Vanessa Collins and Austin (Destiny) Jones; along with a host of extended family members.
George will be dearly missed by family, friends and all who knew him. In the midst of our grief we are comforted by the hope of seeing him again. The prospect of spending eternity in the presence of God, along with all those He has redeemed, is available to anyone who believes in Him and puts their faith in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that you consider making a donation in George’s memory to the Tuskegee Airmen Ohio Memorial Chapter.
