George Edward Donaldson

George Edward Donaldson, age 89, was called home on Friday, January 7, 2011 at the Winchester Place Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Canal Winchester, OH. He was born December 7, 1921 in Rockwood, TN to the late Cora B. and George E. Donaldson, Sr. George was a dedicated and faithful member and treasurer of the First African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church for over 50 years. He retired from the State of Ohio after 37 years or service as an electrician at the Ohio House of Representatives. He was predeceased by his loving and faithful wife, Velora Donaldson; brother, Walter “Boochie” Donaldson; sisters, Helen Goins, Rachel Donaldson Scott, and Ruth Donaldson Willis; and an uncle, Walter Hill. George’s memory will be cherished by his sisters, Geneva Huey, Mary (James) Price, and Geraldine Donaldson, of Knoxville, TN; brother, Herbert (Marcia) Donaldson; aunt, Elise Hill, of Dayton, OH; sisters-in-law, Marjorie Bayless, of Ridgeway, OH; Betty (William) Grimes, of California; Gwen Adams, of Cleveland, OH; loving niece and care provider, Teresa (Albert) Kirk; and many other nieces, nephews, other relatives, devoted friends, and neighbors.
