George Fitzroy Franklin, Sr.

George Fitzroy Franklin, Sr. was called to his eternal rest on December 25, 2017 while at the Kobacker House in Columbus, Ohio. He was born in Guyana, South America to Sylvanus and Ambrozene Franklin. George held degrees from Morgan State University (Baltimore, MD), Long Island University (New York City, NY), and The Ohio State University in Columbus. He taught at Central State University (Wilberforce, OH) and held several other positions of employment in Columbus, but ultimately retired from the Franklin County Juvenile Center in 2001. In addition to his parents, George was preceded in death by a host of siblings - three brothers and three sisters. Those who remain to cherish memories of George include his wife, Joan Franklin; son George Jr.; sisters, Jean Austin and Gloria Franklin; along with a host of nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews, other relatives, and great friends who loved him dearly.
