GEORGE “BUSTER” LEO BROWN was born on Monday, February 21, 1949, in Columbus, Ohio, the proud son of Hunter M. and Ernestine Brown. George attended East High School (Columbus, Ohio) and celebrated over 30 years of service employed with Columbus City Schools.
On Saturday, September 2, 2023, George “Buster,” age 74, was surrounded by his family when he took his last ride and journeyed home. He was preceded in death by his father, Hunter M. Brown; mother, Ernestine Brown; brothers, Sgt. Monroe Ruben Brown, Robert “Bobby” Brown, and William (Tracy Vaughn) Brown.
Left behind to cherish his memory is his wife of over 50 years, Mary Brown; sons, George M. Brown and Ronnie Brown; and daughters, Yolonda Brown and Kema Nutter. A proud grandfather, George’s surviving grandchildren include Datonia Brown, Rayquan Holloway, Averi Brown, Amari Patterson, Brennan Brown, Brycen Brown, and Braylee Brown; along with great-grandchildren, Samoni Holloway and Ny’Quan Holloway; as well as a host of other family members and dear friends. George also leaves behind his dog and faithful companion, Buddy.
Buster enjoyed being with family while watching cowboy movies, Family Feud, and the Texas Longhorns and Cleveland Browns football games. His hobbies included going to the casino, horse and dog races, fishing, hunting, swimming, barbequing, singing, and dancing.
IT IS WITH GREAT LOVE THAT WE, THE FAMILY, wish him God’s speed on his journey home and it is our hope, he finds joy and peace in reuniting with those he loved who have gone before him.
