Georgetta Ann Chafin

Georgetta A. Gilbert Chafin was born February 13, 1950 in Springfield, Ohio. At an early age, she moved with her family to Columbus, Ohio. She attended the public school system and graduated from Mohawk High School. Georgetta retired from Children's Hospital where she worked for many years as a computer programmer. Known to many as "Jetta," she enjoyed bowling and was a member of the Rare Blood Motorcycle Club. On April 22, 2020, at the age of 70, Georgetta was called home to eternal rest while at Whetstone Care Center in Columbus. She was preceded in death by her parents, Delores Gilbert Patterson and George Baker, Jr. Left to cherish Jetta's memory, are her two children, Teresita Chafin and Russell Chafin, Jr.; sister Carolyn White; brother Tommy (Alethea) Botts; her four beloved grandsons, Asanté, Tré D., Tyre K., and Tahlil I. Johnson; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Due to the current public health crisis, Georgetta’s family has chosen not to have a formal ceremony at this time.
