Geraldine 'Dean' (Locke) Newman

Geraldine Dean Newman, age 63, born May 21, 1951 in Selma, Alabama, passed unexpectedly on Saturday, August 16, 2014 in Canal Winchester, Ohio. She was retired from the Columbus City Schools and the State of Ohio, for which she worked as a Youth Leader at TICO. Geraldine was preceded in death by her husband Gregory Newman, mother Ernestine Locke-Lunsford, and brothers, James Pickens and Leonard Locke. Left to cherish memories of Geraldine are her children, Stephanie Holt and Lorenzo White; sisters, Laverne (George) Stanley and Shirley Locke; brothers, Ernest, Ervin, Terry, Tyler, and Robert (Denise) Locke; grandchildren, Chance, Shanesee (J.L.) Parker, Frederick Jr., and special granddaughter Taleya Oshodi; great grandchildren, Makel, Makayla-Ani, and Frederick III; special niece Taeylor Stanley; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, including very dear friends, Bahiya Napier, Cristina Wade, and Jackie McClendon.
