Gerda May Bell (Jurdie May) was born on the 9th day of October in 1936 in Peach Creek, West Virginia to the union of the late George Gilliam and Alma Turner. She departed this life on February 27,2013 at Ohio State University East Hospital. Gerda was preceded in death by her parents, George Gilliam and Alma Turner; sister, Dorothy Godfrey; brother, George Gilliam Jr.; and son, Jesse Clarence Bell. She is survived by sons, Gerry (Yolanda) Gilliam and Dale (Jackie) Bell; daughters, Victoria (Kofi) Frimpong, Deborah (Larry) Reed and Rhonda Holland; and a host of grand and great grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews, best friend/cousin Rosalie Roberts and family. Gerda was a very caring, selflessness provider and care giver. She was very knowledgeable and full of love and wisdom. She was a retiree of Children’s Hospital, with 28 years of service. She was also a faithful servant of the Lord Jesus Christ. She served at St. James Pentecostal Church, Columbus, OH., New Hope Baptist Church, Grand Rapids, MI. and Come As You Are Perfecting Church, Columbus, OH. She loved reading, watching T.V., dancing and singing happy birthday to us. Her favorite food and drinks were: fried chicken, Coke Cola, coffee and fresh fruit. Now if you really wanted to SET HER OFF, just say something negative about: President Barack Obama, Michael Jackson, or O. J. Simpson; or try to make her STOP drinking her Coke Cola. (LOL)
