Gertrude Evon Cunningham, loving known as “Boo Boo” or “Gert”, received her heavenly wings at the age of 57. Gert was born February 21, 1963. She was the youngest “baby girl” born to Richard and Lillie Cunningham. Raised on the westside (Hilltop), she attended Columbus Public Schools; where she achieved a numerous amount of honors, trophies, and medals in track and basketball. After graduating from West High School, she married her long time friend Robert Glover and from that union , The One and ONLY Martina Loreal Glover was born. Gert began in the workforce at OCM Janitorial Services and fulfilled her career retiring from Franklin County Developmental Disabilities. All the while she never wavered from her journey with Christ. Everyone who knew Gert, knew she loved to be outdoors. It didn’t matter if she was grilling, doing yard work, or washing her all black car! We knew we could find her with her famous sweat towel draped over her shoulder enjoying the sun. On Wednesday, June 3, 2020, Gertrude transitioned to Heaven. She was preceded in death by her parents Richard and Lillie Cunningham, siblings Blanch Milsap, Bernice “Bonnie” Crawford, Eugene, Milton, Emanuel, Jimmy, Rebecca, Emma Jean, and Phyllis Cunningham. Her glorious life will be forever cherished in the lives of her dedicated and devoted daughter, Martina (Damien) Roquemore; siblings, Cheryl West, Roy (Pat) Dean, Richard (Yvonne) Cunningham, Bernard (Donna) Cunningham, JoEllen Taylor, Elneata “Von” (Eric) Beckley, Gloria Faye (Frazier) Bryel, and Herman and Thurman Cunningham; five loving grandchildren, Maurice Sawyer, Da’Mari and Diamond Roquemore, MaKenzie Kimbro, and Honor Roquemore; as well as a host of aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
