Glendara Clayton, was born at Charity Hospital in Laurel, Mississippi, June 11,1957 and grew up in Paulding, Mississippi. She passed away in Columbus, Ohio.
Glendara was predeceased by her Grandfather Sam Clayton, Grandmother Lily Mae Clayton, Mother Ethel Evans, Aunt Lee Ann Rucker, and Sister Shelia Taylor. She is survived by sisters Joann Clayton and Janice Crumbley; nieces Crystal Childress, Sophronia Taylor, Tahnee Butler; and nephews Richard Taylor, Johnathan Taylor, Dominic Buckley, Daniel Buckley and Eddie Crumbley and God Child, as well as many great-nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.
Glendara attended Alcorn State University, where she majored in economics and accounting. She dedicated 43 years of her life to the Development Services Agency for the State of Ohio, where she received several awards for her outstanding contributions.
In her free time, Glendara enjoyed cycling, finding freedom and joy in the activity. She was also a valued member of New Salem, where she served on the Board of Trustees and the Mass Choir, exemplifying her commitment to her community and faith.
Glendara will be remembered for her loving and kind nature, always ready to lend an ear or offer advice. Her strong devotion to family and God left a legacy of strength, positivity, and a love for life. Her infectious laughter and matter-of-fact attitude endeared her to all who knew her.
She will be laid to rest at the family plot in Paulding, Mississippi, on Saturday, June 1, 2024, at County Line Baptist Church at 1:00 p.m.
