Grace Edna Peebles Harrington, age 92, born November 2, 1928, went peacefully to her heavenly home on Tuesday, January 12, 2021. She was religiously affiliated with Friendship Baptist Church where she sang in the Jubilee Choir for 39 years and was a member of the Smith-Simmons Scholarship Ministry, the 60 and Over Women’s Fellowship, and the Ruth Circle. Throughout her life, Grace served on the Council of Elders, Salvation Army Food Pantry, and Hilltop (USA) Civic Council Inc. where she was awarded the Beautification Award for 5 consecutive years. She was a member of the Gillie Fillies and a lifetime member of the Red Hat Society. Grace had a generous spirit, gentle smile, and kind words for everyone she encountered. She was a sharp dresser, travel enthusiast, and motorcycle “Momma.” Grace was preceded in death by her father McKinley Peebles/Mason, mother Hettie Perdue Peebles, brothers Smitty Peebles, Therman “TJ” Peebles, and David Peebles. She is survived by her children, E’rich D. Harrington, Sandra H. Quick, Kevin A. Harrington; brothers, C. Edward (Sherri) Mason, Lawrence (Vanessa) Mason; sister, Dorothy Mason; special niece, Carol Ann Mack; special nephew, Michael Peebles; grandchildren, Erica Harrington, Daudi (Danielle) Quick, LaVonda Harrington, Malaika Quick, LaTana Heglar, Celena (Jason) Boles, E’lesa Harrington; 7 great grandchildren; 6 great-great grandchildren; first cousins, Peggy Fulgam, Calvin Buntin; numerous nieces, nephews, and close church friends.
