Gracie Adams

Gracie Adams was born May 29,1928 in Pembroke Virginia to Mary Sue Milton and Leonard E. Milton. She was educated at Bluff City High School in Virginia. She was also a licensed cosmetologist. Ms. Adams was well known in the cooking field which she did for a number of years. She was a foster parent to many young girls over the years and she was also a child care provider from which she retired. Gracie received Christ at an early age in Virginia. After coming to Columbus she attended several churches then she joined Calvary Tremont Baptist Church. She was a loyal and faithful member of the church for 40 plus years where she served on the Nurses Board and was Secretary of the Mission Circle. She was also an Usher for 28 years. Gracie is preceded in death by her mother and father; two brothers, David and William Milton, husband, John Adams; brother, Frank Paige; two step sisters, Irene and Frances Paige; grandsons, Jimmy and Omar Cunningham; and granddaughter in-law, Patricia Cunningham . She leaves to cherish her memory, son, Larry Milton; daughter, Linda Cunningham; sister, Lillian White; three grandsons, Darren Cunningham, Dominique Cunningham, and Monte Milton; a host of great grandchildren; great-great grandchildren; nieces; nephews; and cousins. She definitely loved her Calvary Tremont family and the plethora of friends she had.
