Gregory Allen Woods, Sr.

Gregory (Greg) Allen Woods Sr. was born May 24, 1971 in Toledo Ohio to the late Beatrice Evangeline and Joseph Sylvester Lewis Woods. Greg moved to Columbus at an early age. Greg was preceded in death by his parents, Beatrice Evangeline and Joseph Sylvester Lewis Woods, step-daughter Ja'Niece Hicks and sister Jacqueline Yvonne McNeal. He leaves to cherish his memory with his loving and committee wife, Deidra Johnson-Woods, daughter Shanatta Moore, son, Gregory Woods Jr., granddaughter, Janae Slaughter, sister, Donna Peake, brothers, Joseph Jr and Daniel (Teresa) Woods, Father in law, Elder Daniel (Jackie) Johnson, brother in law Dion (Margo) Johnson Sr. , special cousin, Frances Rembert and a host of family and friends. Greg graduated from Independence High School in 1990. He later enrolled into The Ohio State Barber College earning his barber license in 1993. During his lifelong career as a barber he owned and managed a barber shop where he rendered not just a haircut, but an experience. He was employed by Buckeye Steele and Pactiv . Greg loved his wife and he made it known. He love his family with all his heart, and enjoyed spending time with them . Traveling and exploring with his family was always something he looked forward to. Greg enjoyed fishing, playing pool, bowling and just living life to the fullest. He was a member of First Church Of God in Columbus Ohio. Under .the leadership of Bishop Timothy Clarke, Greg gave his life to Christ. Greg became a member of The Ezekiel Lodge #4. He served as a Master Mason in 2017 and a Senior Warden in 2017/18. Greg was instrumental in doing community service work , with a special interest in helping the children, by participating in the firefighters for kids, as well as treating the children with candy and gifts at Mt. Zion Church of God and Christ in Columbus, Ohio . He was loved by many lodges and chapters. Greg transitioned into eternal rest on Saturday January 11, 2020. Although his absence may have created a void, the memories God has allowed us to have, fills the void with happiness. Greg will be missed but always remembered. Rest Peacefully.
