Gregory Campbell was born on February 6, 1960, in Kilmichael, Mississippi. He graduated from Kilmichael High School where he was a football standout and went on to play football at Holmes Junior College. He transferred to West Virginia State University where he met his wife Tracie Lee Davis. The day they met they talked for over six hours which turned into an amazing 35 years of marriage. They realized they were destined to be together after finding out they were from the same named town of Winona. He was from Winona, Mississippi and she was from Winona, West Virginia. He graduated from West Virginia State University with a Bachelor's degree and went to worltfor Kaufman's Department store as the warehouse manager. He was the warehouse manager for Schwan's Hom Food Service in Lebanon , Virginia, Hurricane, West Virginia, and Columbus, Ohio. He has worked for Schwan's for over 20 years. While living in Virginia he was a member of the Lions Club. Greg served as a Deacon for the Chestnut Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Norton, Virginia, the Pilgrim Home Missionary Baptist Church in St. Albans, West Virginia and for Christ Memorial Missionary Baptist Church . While he enjoyed serving as a Deacon at Christ Memorial, he loved singing in the Male Chorus and serving as their treasurer. Greg was preceded in death by his parents R.L and Maggie B. Campbell, sister, Dorothy Jean Harrison (Jim) and brother, Jeffery Campbell. He is survived by his loving wife Tracie, sons Antonio Townsend (Velicia] Jeffree Campbell (Lindsey), Gregory Campbell (Ali), granddaughter Amaya Rose, grandsons Armaun Townsend, Vre' Tye, one godson Aaron Tuffin and mother-in-law Alfretta Davis who loved and treated him as he son. Brothers Richard Campbell (Nancy) and Robert Campbell. Sisters Betty James (Robert), Annette Hollis, Laura Renda Rooney (Tyrone) and Angela "Dean" Morgan (Fred). Brother in-laws Martin Keith Davis and Alonzo Martin (Shelly) and sister in-laws Donna Smith (Jadie) and Anna Davis. He is also survived by nieces and nephews who totally adored their uncle Greg and he loved them even more, as well as, a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and coworkers. Greg slipped away quietly into the night to be with the Lord on May 12, 2019.
