Gwendolyn Ethel Lewis

April 18, 1938 — March 13, 2021

Mrs. Gwendolyn E. Lewis was born on April 18, 1938 to the union of Mr. Napoleon Harshaw and Mrs. Mary Harshaw in Columbus, Ohio. Gwendolyn accepted Jesus Christ into her life at an early age. She attended and graduated from East High School located in Columbus, Ohio. Later on, in life while raising her children she returned to school to receive an associate’s degree from Columbus State Community College. After graduation, she went on to work for the Franklin County Welfare Department. Gwendolyn was a member of New Antioch Bible Fellowship Church where she was lovingly called “Mom Lewis”. She was also a long-time member of the Order of the Eastern Star where she remained in high esteem. Gwendolyn was the proud mother of six children consisting of two daughters and four sons. She nurtured all of her children to become strong, loving and caring individuals as they entered adulthood. She was affectionately known as Grammy by her grandchildren, Lauryn Lewis, Seth Lewis and Richard (Destanee) Lewis, Jeremiah (Dorothy) Williams, Reginald Walls, Jr. Janee Walls, Martee (Tonya) Morse, Melonie and Kelvin Morse, and Kelva Clemmons. On March 13, 2021 Gwendolyn E. Lewis, departed this earth and went to be with the Lord. Preceded in death by Napoleon Harshaw (father), Mary Zella Harshaw (mother), Harold E. Morse (son), Rita Ogletree (sister), Dorothy Harshaw (sister), Luther Harshaw (brother), Napoleon Harshaw, Jr. (brother), and Wallace Harshaw (brother). Left to cherish the memory of Mrs. Gwendolyn Ethel Lewis is her sister, Mrs. Betty Greer and Erick Greer, Jr. (nephew). Sons: Kip (Nicole) Lewis, William Lewis, Jr. and Kelvin (Lanora) Morse. Daughters: Mecheli (Casey) Coleman, and Andrea (Reginald) Walls, Sr., grandchildren, great-grandchildren along with a host of nieces, nephews, family members and friends.
