Helen Marcella Hagans-Powell, born Tuesday, October 23, 1951, in Columbus, Ohio, received her angel wings on Wednesday, July 14, 2021. Helen was preceded in death by her father, Jack A Williams, Sr.; mother, Roberta G. Williams; maternal grandparents, Simon and Helen Stewart; paternal grandparents, Jesse and Hazel Williams; and brothers, Douglas M. Williams and Simon L. Williams. Loving memories are cherished by her beloved husband of 34 years, Larry Powell; her beloved daughter, Cecilia Havener; stepdaughter, Gina Powell; beloved granddaughter, Marcella (Bryan) Gray; grandson, Jordi Ribeiro; great grandson, Jaydon Gray; brother, Jack (Cheri) Williams Jr.; sisters, Cecilia (Dennis) Winkfield, Stephanie Williams-Turner, and Sonya Williams; nieces, Roberta Garner, Monique Hall, DeAnn Williams, and Ashle Poole; nephews, Mandel (Bricia) Williams, David (Abby) Williams, Jamar Williams, and Derrick Turner Jr.; great nephews, Dominic Hall, Zsaylen Williams, Darven D'Kosi Hall Albert, Bryant Garner-Stockdale, Daurice Mills, Cameron Williams, and Zahir Poole; great nieces, DeShay Mills and Zayaria Mills; aunt, Madeline Walker; sister-in-law, Lavonna Allen; special sisters, Barbara Stewart, Yolanda Phillips, and Linda Jones; her beloved dog, Roscoe; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many friends; including special friend, Mika Collier. Helen attended The Ohio State University. She earned, however, a Master of Arts in Organizational Management, Human Resources, and Organizational Leadership from the University of Phoenix. Helen retired from Honeywell and Grimes Aerospace with 43 years of service. After retiring, she was employed with the Southwest Public Library Westland Branch. Helen was also founder and owner of Marcii's Findings. This wonderful wife, daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, niece, cousin, friend, mentor, role model, teacher, entrepreneur, passionate leader, and confidante was one of a kind, highly respected, and loved by all. Helen was a selfless, generous soul with a heart of gold. She supported many charitable organizations for the homeless, children, and feeding families in need. In her leisure, she loved beading, making jewelry, reading, walking, painting, genealogy, journaling, and traveling. HELEN WAS THE CEO (Chief of Everything Officer) of the family. She was the first to reach out to everyone, no matter what. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
