Helen Marie Taylor, 98, born January 31, 1913 in Columbus, Ohio, went home to the Lord on Monday, May 2, 2011 at Bon-Ing Care Center. She was a retired federal employee of DCSC, where she worked as a procurement clerk, and was a longtime, faithful member of St. Paul A.M.E. Church, where she was served as an organist for over fifty years. Preceded in death by parents, Minnie L. Taylor and Daniel M. Taylor, Sr., sisters, Catherine Roberts, Margaret Howard, Mary Burt, and Lucille Armstrong, brothers, Daniel, Alfred, and John Taylor. Survived by nieces, Ann Stokes Johnson of Las Vegas, Nevada and Cheryl Mance of Silver Spring, Maryland; nephews, William Bolden of Columbus, Ohio, Michael Burt of Florida, and John Burt of Silver Spring, Maryland; great nieces and nephews, Adrienne Bolden, Erica Burt, and William Burt; dear friend, James B. Payne, and a host of other relatives and friends. Homegoing Celebration 11 a.m., Friday, May 6, 2011 at St. Paul A.M.E. Church, 639 E. Long Street, where the family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the start of service. Rev. Dr. Michael R. Bean, Sr., officiating. Entombment Green Lawn Cemetery.
