Helen Thelma Dozier

HELEN THELMA DOZIER, a faithful servant of God, was born in Columbus, Ohio, Wednesday, January 16, 1929, and transitioned to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 22, 2022. Helen was blessed with ninety-three years of life. She was predeceased by her loving and devoted husband of sixty-five years, Reverend Weymon E. Dozier; parents, Roy and Rosa Lee Cain; brother, William F. Cain; and sister, Beatrice Bolden. Helen Dozier was a student of Columbus City Schools from where she graduated in 1947. She furthered her education at Bliss College and majored in Business Administration. As a devoted Christian, Helen was an active member of Trinity Baptist Church for over seventy-five years. In Helen’s early employment years, she worked for F. & R. Lazarus as a Sales Associate. She began her long-term career with the State of Ohio and then moved on to work for the Defense Construction Supply Center (DCSC) as an Item Manager for over thirty years. During this employment, Helen received many recognitions and awards for her outstanding performance in government. Helen served her community through her work and her husband’s ministry. Helen enjoyed traveling with her husband and friends throughout the United States and the Caribbean. Helen was an avid bowler and enjoyed golfing. She was energetic and worked tirelessly for both her church and community. She was a quiet and gracious lady who was devoted to her immediate family. Helen was a role model for all of her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and other family members. Helen leaves to cherish her memory her devoted children: daughter, Jacqueline Dozier Ralls; son and daughter-in-law, Wayne E. and Maria Dozier; grandchildren, Tiffany R. Ralls, Wesley E. (Chelsea) Dozier, and Morgan B. Dozier; great grandchildren, Bryland Marcus Vernon Alexander, Weston E. Dozier, and Brooks E. Dozier; nephews, Donald L. (Carolyn) Stinson and William R. (Kim) Prillerman; niece, Lynne Prillerman Muse; special lifelong friend, Leola Harrington; many great nieces, great nephews, other family members, and dear friends.
