Herbert "Byrd" Nixon

Herbert J. Nixon, affectionately known as "Byrd", was born November 14, 1978 in Columbus, Ohio to Herbert Stirtmire Jr. and Annette M. Mathews. He attended Linden McKinley and graduated from the Ohio Media School. Byrd enjoyed making music, digital art and painting. He worked as a daycare teacher for Brightside Academy.

Byrd was preceded in death by grandmothers, Ruth Ann Tatum and Rosa Lee Stirtmire; grandfather, Herbert Stirtmire Sr.; and great aunt, Pamela Bell.

Survived by mother, Annette M. Mathews;  father, Herbert Stirtmire Jr.; grandfather, Hamp Nixon; sisters, Rosalee A. Stirtmire, Brandice Young, Trebreh Stirtmire, and Corrina Taylor; brothers, Shandos Young, Joshua Stirtmire, Timothy Stirtmire, and Noah Stirtmire; and a host of friends, cousins, nieces, aunts and uncles.
