Herman James Hampton, Sr.

Herman Hampton Sr. went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 16, 2022. He was born January 22, 1953 in Columbus, Ohio to Nancy Lee Parker. He graduated from Central High School. Herman was a very skilled brick layer and started this trade at the age of 17 where he continued to work for 25 plus years. After his years of service as a brick layer he established his own cleaning company. He was honored and proud to train and hire his young family members and friends. Herman taught his sons the skills of proper buffing and waxing floors. During this time he also worked for Capital Services as an Operations Cleaning Manager. He was forced into early retirement due to health reasons. Herman loved bowling, he participated with many bowling teams in Columbus Ohio and stayed bowling in the 200 range. He hit 300 once and would gladly tell you all about it. One thing about Herman that most in this room experienced, was getting a ride from him or driving his car. During one of these rides you might have had the privilege of him taking one of his quick naps at the red light or stop sign. You would have to tap him to wake up and move on. He would wake and give you that silly laugh and say "What? I was not sleep"! We love you Herman Sr. and all those quick naps. Herman is preceded in death by his mother Nancy Lee Parker, sister Carolyn Parker, Grandson Stephan Carson, Nephews Rummell Heller, Jayelin Wilson, Brother-in-law Vincente Carson, and Mother-in-law Kathi Jones. He leaves behind to cherish his precious memory, his beloved wife Menzula Hampton, sons Charles (Natalie) Carson, Herman (Keriann) Hampton Jr, Larry Reese, a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren, Sisters Regina Parker, Yolonda Parker, brothers Harvey (Janice) Parker, Eugene Parker Brother-in-law Lafonda (Susan) Carson, Sister-in-laws Lois Carson, Coreca (Philip) Hall, and Monica (Robert) Lilly, a host of nieces, nephews & great nieces & nephews. Herman will be missed by many relatives and friends.
