Hope Joyce Hawkins

Hope Joyce Hawkins was born on June 29,1937 to Sergil Cave and Margaret Westbrook in Binghamton, NY. She went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 30, 2018. Hope was preceded in death by her parents, Sergil Cave and Margaret Westbrook; siblings, Sergil Cave, Jr., Alan Cave, Donald Cave, Marjorie Johnson, and June Hubbard; husband, Wyman Hawkins; and son, Dwayne Lewright. Hope was a longtime member of Mount Olivet Baptist Church. She was employed as a secretary for Ben Espy, Esq. for over 15 years. She also worked for Senator Ben Espy in his Senate office from 1992-2002. Hope was devoted to her family and friends and enjoyed soap operas, game shows, traveling, and being around water. Remaining to cherish Hope’s memory are her sons: David (Adrienne) and Dwight Lewright. Grandchildren: Charity, Faith, Joy, Hope, Aliya, Maya, David, and Tyler Lewright; JJ (Kelly) Tarkington, Matt (Alisa) Tarkington, Alissa McLaughlin, and Asia Smith. She is also survived by a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and close friends.
