Ida Virginia Smith was born September 7, 1930 in Columbus, Ohio, to the late Richard and Louise Smith. She transitioned from this life on October 16, 2020. Ida was a member of Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church for over 50 years, where she sang in the Young Adults Choir, a member of the Willing Workers Club, and Senior Ministry. Ida attended Champion Junior High and East High Schools. Throughout her life, she worked for the L. Sexton Family, Arena Lanes, Office Lounge, the Golden Hobby Shop, and under AARP Senior options as a teachers helper. Ida was an avid Bingo player. In her early years ,she played basketball for Novelty Food Bar, 740 HC and others. She enjoyed bowling at Arena and various other lanes in Columbus. Ida was preceded in death by her parents Ricard J. and Louise (Johnson) Smith, brothers Richard and Winfred Smith, and brother-in-law Wm “Richard” Wofford. She leaves to cherish her memory a sister, Nina L. Wofford; sister-in-law, Verda Smith; nieces, Nina Rice, Sandra Simpson, Verda “Yogi” Ward, Angela “Angie” Smith; cousin, William I. Smith; many other nieces, nephews, other family, special friends, and her Pilgrim Church Family.

Beginning at 1pm, doors will open for a walk-through viewing. For the mutual wellness and respect of those present, all visitors are asked to wear an appropriate face covering, apply an alcohol-based hand sanitizer spray upon entry, and maintain proper distancing according to current public health guidelines. We encourage you to utilize Ida's memorial celebration wall to , send flowers and post an expression of sympathy and support for the family. A receptacle will also be available for on-site collection of sympathy cards and condolence letters.
