In Cha Howell, 77, of Columbus, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 22, 2024.
She was born on Tuesday, February 11th, 1947, in Seoul, Korea to the late Bok Sung Yoo and Kui Yeom Park.
In is preceded in death by her husband, Harry M. Howell and grandson, Kente Binford, II.
She is survived by son, Michael (Ashley) Howell; daughters, Kim (Tori) Baker and Michelle (Kente) Binford. Grandchildren, Hassan (Thanh), Jamal, Jasmine, Tiffani (Olabode), Kaila (Dairrick), Tanee', Natoria, Michael "Mikey", Le'anna, Aaliyah, Christopher "Chris", Natonia, and Jayden; great-grandchildren, Aaliyah, Skyler, Milan, Zaira, and Tru; sister-in-law, Sandra (Timothy) Grant; brother-in-law, Doug (Marva) Howell; sisters, Sungchi Shelton and Yu In Soon; brothers, Ki Wong Kim, Ki Souk Kim and Ki Yong Kim and hosts of nieces, nephews, and long time friends.
In and Harry married on May 9, 1969 in Seoul, Korea. Shortly after she moved to Columbus, Ohio where they raised their family. She became a U.S. citizen on May 15, 1973. In was baptized in 1970 at Union Grove Baptist Church. In was a loyal member with Palomar Korean Church in California and attended Full Gospel Korean Church in Ohio. She was named Mother of Church at Palomar Korean Church and a deacon since 2017.
In worked at R.G. Barry for several years and retired from Bath and Body Works in 2005. In loved volunteering at church, knitting, cooking, traveling, and spending time with her family. She was a member with the Korean Women's Association of Columbus, Ohio. She moved to San Diego, California in 2006, where she traveled back and forth to Ohio.
Friends will be received for Visitation at Union Grove Baptist Church on Friday, June 14th, 2024 from 12:00 pm until 1:00 pm. Services will be held at Union Grove Baptist Church at 1:00 pm on Friday, June 14th, 2024 until 2:00 pm followed immediately by her interment at Eastlawn Cemetery.
