Irene, a devoted mother of three children and a loving wife. When I talk about a strong beautiful soul, that is Irene. The challenges and struggles that Irene encountered in her life made her a phenomenal “Black Beautiful Woman”. Irene would tell you stories of her struggles and how she overcame them. She would always say, “I need to write a book”. Irene didn’t sugar-coat anything, although she was a soft gentle and sensitive teddy bear.
Irene worked hard and survived being a single parent. Irene loved her grand & great-grandchildren. When she would either visit or the grandbabies would come over, she would rock and sing to them to sleep. Irene loved everyone (good or bad).
Some of you had the pleasure of getting one or purchasing her famous sweet potato pies, baked or frozen. Man, could she make and bake them so perfect without using any measurements! I want to thank you all that purchased them, because I swear, we had great Thanksgivings and Christmas because of your purchase. I, along with Donna Shepard and Cynthia had the pleasure of learning how to make them, but it still wasn’t like hers. Oh, let’s not forget about the banana pudding. She made that too by scratch. Her grandchildren didn’t go without getting one for the holidays or birthdays.
Irene Fine-Lee had the pleasure of having supportive close dear friends, and our family want to Thank, The Martin Family, The Greathouse Family, Donna Shepard, Christine Prater, Janice Greathouse, Eva Dyer, Rose (Walton) Fluellen, Mary Steward, and Carmen (Thorton) Ward. She enjoyed time with her work friends at the Taxation Department. Irene Fine-Lee will be truly missed. We LOVE YOU.
Pallbearers: Michael Dennis, Michael Dennis Jr, Curtis Fine, Kenny Morgan, Tony Townsel & Eddie Greathouse.
