Jacqueline "Jackie" Yvonne Mcneal

Jacqueline (Jackie) Yvonne McNeal, age 57, became an angel of the Lord on June 1, 2019 at Mt. Carmel East Hospital. She was born on June 9, 1961 in Toledo, OH to Beatrice Evangeline and Joseph Sylvester Lewis Woods, Sr. She spent the early years of her life in Toledo and in 1972, her father received a job promotion and the family relocated to Columbus. After graduating from Columbus South High in 1979, she began working. She worked several places before beginning her career at the Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation (BWC) in April 1981. While working full time and managing the McNeal household, Jackie received an Associate’s Degree in Computer Science from Columbus State University. After thirty years of employment at BWC, she retired in 2011. She met the love of her life, Jeffrey McNeal, at a little league football practice of her youngest brother Greg. Jeffrey was Greg’s coach. On July 23, 1983, they were married and blessed with a family of one son and two daughters. Jackie was the “glue” that held everything together for her family. This began after the death of her mother in 1980. At that time, she willingly took on the “mother” role for her younger siblings. Later in life, she became a mother figure for many of her children’s friends and others. Jackie was the “go to” person for family members and friends. She was actively involved in the lives of her 4 grandchildren and was looking forward to the birth of her 5th grandchild at the end of this month. She dearly loved and enjoyed being a grandmother. She volunteered at Brice Christian Academy where her grandchildren attend school and at a local food pantry. She loved to travel and especially cruising with family and friends. Jackie was preceded in death by her parents, Beatrice Evangeline and Joseph Sylvester Lewis Woods, Sr. She leaves to cherish her memory, devoted husband, Jeffrey McNeal; son, Marquis McNeal; daughters, Nicole and Alisa McNeal; grandchildren, Cadence, Chason, Marley Bailey and Dylon; brothers, Joseph, Jr., Daniel (Teresa), Gregory (Deidra) Woods; sister, Donna Peake; special cousin, Frances Rembert; nieces and nephews and great nieces, cousins and friends.
