James Doss

JAMES ERNEST DOSS was born in Gallipolis, Ohio, on Friday, August 11, 1939. He was the son of Ernest and Emma Doss. James was affectionately called “Jim” and “Jazz” by family and friends. As a young boy, his family moved to Columbus, Ohio. James received his formal education from Columbus City Schools and was a proud graduate of East High School, Class of 1958. Later in life, James earned an accounting degree from Columbus State Community College.

James was a retiree of the State of Ohio, where he served as an accountant. He was previously employed by Pepsi Cola and Shoedinger Steel. In his leisure, James loved to read and was definitely a history buff. He enjoyed most sports and was an avid Cleveland Browns fan. Most importantly, James enjoyed spending time with his family.

Blessed with eighty-three years of life, our beloved James E. Doss entered eternal rest on Sunday, February 12, 2023. In addition to his parents, James was predeceased by his brother, Charles “Chuckie” Doss and his son, Lawrence “Bubby” Doss.

Loving memories are cherished by his children, Teresa Jackson, Rhonda Green, and Bryon Doss; his grandchildren, Erin, Jason, Alicia, Brittany, and Alexa; eight great grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter; and his adored “bonus” children, Antonnio, Draigo, and Khamara. James especially leaves to grieve his beloved companion, Angela “Angie” Ritter, as well as other family members and dear friends, who will truly miss him.
