James Edward Skipper

Mr. James Edward Skipper was born December 1, 1949 in Columbus, Ohio to Mr. and Mrs. Paul (Mattie) Skipper. He was affectionally known by “Jimmy”, “Skipper”, and “Pa-Pa”. He unexpectedly departed this life on Tuesday, May 17, 2022 at Meadows of Scioto. Skipper was employed with Vison Center of Central Ohio, where he retired after 35 dedicated years, on December 31, 2007. He was a graduate of Linden McKinley High School. He had a love for his family; gospel and jazz music; and listening to audible books. He is preceded in death by his parents, Paul (Mattie) Skipper and grandparents, Charles (Frances) Wilson. He leaves to cherish his memory and celebrate his life: loving wife, Hattie Mae Skipper of 46 years; daughters, Jeanine D. Butcher, Jane Y. Skipper and Christina M. Skipper; grandchildren, Jacques I. Skipper and Isaiah A. Brown; brother, Charles “Chuck” (Seretha Mitchell) Skipper; a host of family to include but not limited to: nephews and nieces, Michael P. Skipper, Jeffrey E. Jones, David C. Butcher, Malachi M. Madison, Ionica (Jermaine) Ransom and Michelle R. Madison; 6 brother in-laws and 7 sister in-laws; 9 great-nephews and 4 great-nieces; and dear friends, Arthur Berry, Arthur Twitty, Sam Johnson, Raymond Powell and Mike (Sharon) Hawkins.
