James D. Hairston, 75 was born on July 25, 1939 in Summerlee, West Virginia to father, John Hairston and mother, Luella Holland. He was raised in West Virginia and after high school moved to New York for a short while. He then moved to Columbus, Ohio and got a job at Buckeye Steel. James had a great sense of humor. He enjoyed watching baseball games, eating “good down home cooking” and watching old westerns. He liked to bowl and joined a league while employed as an oiler at Anheuser Busch Company. He later retired from Anheuser Busch Company which allowed him to spend time with his family. He is preceded in death by parents, John and Luella Hairston; brothers, Damon, John and Norman, Sr.; sister, Christine. He is survived by children, Cara Mills and Kevin Hairston; sister, Juanita (Charles) Byrd; grandchildren, Aaron, Courtney, Charles III, Kadija, Kala and Tiara and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews other relatives and friends.
