James Joseph North

James Joseph North, 74, was called home to be with the Lord on Monday, May 13, 2013 at Doctor’s West Hospital. He was born on August 18, 1938, and is a graduate of Columbus East High School. James served in the United States Army and later in the Army Reserve. He worked at the Lazarus downtown store where he retired after 26 years. He also retired from the Lakeside Building after working 8 years. He was a member of the Shiloh Baptist Church for many years. James was preceded in death by his parents Frank North, Sr. and Estelle Battle North; brothers Thomas North, Daniel North; sister Dorothy Ervin; stepdaughter Jeanette Hill. He is survived by his loving wife, Joyce North; brother, Frank North; stepchildren, Stephanie Robinson, Samuel Robinson, Gary Robinson; special nieces, Gwen Williams, Marilynn (Timothy) Edwards; 10 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and a host of family members.
