James H. Norman, Jr. “Jimmy” unexpectedly passed away in his sleep at his residence in Columbus Ohio, on October 2, 2017. He was born on April 6, 1956 to James Sr and Annelle Norman. Jimmy was born and raised as part of a loving and caring family in the south end of Columbus. He graduated from Columbus South High School class of 73. He also graduated from Bliss Business College prior to entering the United States Air Force. After receiving an honorable discharge, he returned home to help care for his ill father. Jimmy was an avid sports fan, especially of the Browns and Buckeyes. He was also a good athlete in his own right. Jimmy helped lead his high school team to the state basketball finals. While playing for Bliss College, he averaged over 30 points per game and quarterbacked his Air Force flag football team to a championship. He enjoyed music and loved to dance. He won several dance contest in his youthful years. Jimmy never met a stranger and he was a living example of the golden rule as he treated everyone with love and respect, and he was loved and respected by all who knew him. Jimmy was proceeded in death by his parents, James, Sr. and Annelle Norman. He is survived by his daughter, Champaign; granddaughters, Chardonay and Mahogany; sisters, Sandra Kellum and Nadine Hartway; brother, Peyton (Taza) Watts; along with a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
