James Rayfield D.D.S.

James Albert Rayfield, D.D.S., age 77, made his transition on March 7, 2011. He was born on January 17, 1934 to the late John and Alberta Rayfield of Mobile, Alabama. James received Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior at the age of 12 years old. At the age of 70 years young, he received the Baptism of the Holy Spirit with the Bible evidence of speaking in other tongues. He was a graduate of Sandusky High School and a lettered track star of the Sandusky high school team. After graduation from high school, James attended North Carolina A T. He then joined the U.S. Air Force and served for 4 years with honorable discharge. He later attended The Ohio State University where he also graduated from the College of Dentistry in 1964. He practiced dentistry for 45 years in Columbus, Ohio. He was a member of the Ohio Dental Association and various professional organizations. He also served in several community projects including: Vice Chair of the Comin' Home African American Holiday Celebration , he worked with Autistic and developmentally delayed children and served the homeless population. James enjoyed mentoring others in the business arena and sharing his wisdom with everyone. Dad's favorite scripture was Psalm 91 and he lived his life by it. His favorite saying was Never give up, Never Quit He was preceded in death by his parents John and Alberta and 8 siblings, Robert, A.G., Archie, Claude, Callie Mae, Pauline, Alex and John T. He is survived by his wife, Cassandra Steward Rayfield of 23 years; former wife, Lula Rayfield Davidson (Larry); his children, Danita Rayfield, Abaree Farley (Jimmy), Jon Rayfield (Debora) and Michael Rayfield (Rita); grandchildren, Brandon, Sarah, Christian, Jordan, Jason, Jonathan and Josh; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, friends and extended family.
