James Russell Jenkins

James Russell Jenkins, 30, of Columbus, OH and Gary, IN, passed away on February 7,2013 at 7:09pm at Grant Hospital in Columbus, OH. James is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Philip A. Meredith, paternal grandfather, Walter J. Jenkins Jr., and a number of aunts and cousins. James is survived by his son, Kameron Gilbert; mother, Barbara A. Meredith; father, Walter J. Jenkins III; grandmothers, Cora Harris and Mary Ethel Meredith; brothers, Aaron P. Jenkins, Gordon Terry, Jaylond Brown and lamar Brown; sister, Asia McDonald; sister-in-law, Nicole Jenkins; and a host of aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews. James R. Jenkins better known as Russell was born in Lemoore, CA to Barbara Ann Meredith and Walter James Jenkins ilion January 29, 1983. He went to high school at Marion Franklin High School in Columbus, OH. He worked most recently for Teleperformance as a certified technician supervisor. He enjoyed fishing, swimming, cooking, and spending time with family and friends. He will be remembered by many as the man who gave his life trying to save a child.
