Elder James W. Thomas a member of Refuge Baptist Church where he served in many organizations, where he did his Pt Sermon and became a minister. Rev. Thomas attended L.H. Christian Ministries of Jesus, under Pastor William Benson and was ordained Elder. He served faithfully as Elder at Rock of Faith Baptist Church. He also served as Chaplin for The Baptist Ministers and Laity Bible League. He was a retired employee of the Columbus Public Schools and Bexley Public School Systems. James W. Thomas was graduated from Cortez Peters Business College in Baltimore, Md. He received his C.E.H. certification from The University of Oklahoma and after teaching the classes he received his R.E.H. certification. Elder James W. Thomas also graduated from The Sunbury Road Bible Institute. He is preceded in death by his parents, William E. and Arie F Thomas, sons Rev. Dr. Weldon G. Thomas and Rev. Karl R. Thomas, 3 brothers John R. Thomas Donald(Faye) and Ronald Stansbury, 6 sisters Irene Thomas, Gloria Thomas, Barbara Thomas, Beluah Brown, Glenola Stansbury and Frances Hayes. Rev. Calvin (Desma) Thomas. Elder James W. Thomas is survived by Special friend Wayland M. Blackwell and 2 sons Levon (Tamara) Thomas OSPA of Redland, California, Jshon Thomas MPhsy of San Bruno, California; 2 daughters Sandra MCS and Valarie Thomas of Severn, Maryland; Peggy J. Thomas, mother of the children, Marilyn Thomas daughter-in-law of Washington D.C. 1 brother Lloyd (Rosa) Thomas of Baltimore, Maryland, 1 sisters Maggie Williams of Columbus, Ohio; 8 grandchildren and 2 great grand daughter; special friend Mother Priscilla M. Kelly; a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and many friends.

Beginning at 1:00 pm, doors will open for a walk-through viewing with staggered admission of up to 10 people at a time. For the mutual wellness and respect of those present, all visitors are asked to wear an appropriate face covering, apply an alcohol-based hand sanitizer spray upon entry, and maintain proper distancing according to current public health guidelines. We encourage you to utilize James' memorial celebration wall to view his video tribute, send flowers and post an expression of sympathy and support for the family. A receptacle will also be available for on-site collection of sympathy cards and condolence letters.
