Jane Arden (Belcher) Jewett

May 28, 1937 — July 13, 2014

Jane Arden (Belcher) Jewett was born May 28, 1937 to Beatrice Winbush Belcher and Harvey Belcher in Charleston, West Virginia, where she was raised with her siblings. After moving to Columbus, Ohio, Jane worked at Doctors Hospital North for fifteen years. She graduated from Southern Ohio Business College in 1988, and retired from Capital Service Company, where she worked as an Office Manager. An evangelist at heart, Jane met no strangers and believed everybody ought to know and love the Lord. Previously a member of Woodland Christian Church, she was always willing to serve in any capacity for the Lord. In 2002, she joined Advent United Church of Christ and she adopted the congregation as her family. Jane served on the Constitution and Bylaws Revision Committee and rejoiced in the music of the Voices or Advent Choir. Aunt Jane as she was affectionately called by everyone, was known for her generous nature. She cared for and mentored all who came into her life. She will be remembered for her sense of humor, speaking her mind, love for growing beautiful house plants, drawing, and spending time with her great nieces and great nephews. Throughout Aunt Jane's life and illness, her faith never waivered. The last words she wrote were GOD IS LOVE She would tell all whom she met that you can do anything with God but fail. On Sunday, July 13, 2014, the sweet voice of our Lord and Savior whispered to Jane Belcher Jewett, Come Home. Your work on earth is done faithful servant. In addition to her parents, Jane was predeceased by her husband, Derry Jewett, sisters, Olga Mae Moore, Bernice, and Janette; and brothers, Harvey Jr. and Edgar Lee. She leaves to cherish her life's memories, the families of Herman and Veronice Rucker; Beatrice, and a host of many nieces and nephews including, Tiffany, and Raymond Belcher, Tyrone (Antoinette) Johnson, Teresa Oliver, Olga Mae Moore Smith, Yewell Anthony, Joseph Slaughter, Tiffany Belcher, Lisa Harris of New York, Hattie Hairston Johnon, Robert and Mary Winbush, the Smith and Jones families of Ohio, and Ann Dennis Childs.
