J.B. Mcdowell

JB McDowell was born on August 27, 1945 in Spartanburg, South Carolina. He departed this life on Wednesday, November 22, 2017. JB served in the United States Army from 1963 -1966. He was a 1963 graduate of Lincoln High School and was retired from the Columbus Public Schools as Head Custodian. He loved traveling, fishing and bowling. JB was an avid Buckeye fan. Most of all, his children, grandchildren and great grands, gave him the greatest joy. JB was a member of the First Church of God under Bishop Timothy J. Clarke. He is preceded in death by parents, Plese McDowell and Louise Means McDowell, and brothers, Roy Edward McDowell and Donald McDowell. He leaves to cherish fond memories, his wife of 49 years, Alberta McDowell; children, Marie (James) Williams of Mansfield, Ohio, James “Eric” McDowell of Dallas, Texas, and Keisha (Heiko) Charles; grandchildren, Jordan McDowell, Seantell Bryant, Heiko Charles, Jr., and Mariah Williams; nine great grandchildren; brother Ray McDowell; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
