Jerome Devon Ray was born October 1, 1964 to Nathaniel Barnes and Mary Elizabeth Ray in Columbus, Ohio. He went home to be with the Lord on May 1, 2018. Jerome was a graduate of Brookhaven High School. He was employed by the State of Ohio as well as Washington Industries. He was an avid football fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes and the Pittsburgh Steelers; however, he followed his nephew's success playing for Michigan as well. Jerome and his mother, Mary Elizabeth, would shop together three or four times a month. After shopping, they would just sit in the car talking about various topics. This, she will greatly miss. He loved and collected music. Jerome played guitar all his life. At the age of eight, he began taking lessons every Saturday morning at his mother's insistence. Jerome leaves to cherish his memory, son Jerome Ray McKnight; mother Mary Porras; sisters, Rosalind Ray, Pamela Ray-Earthman (Lacy), and Faye Ray; brother Johnny Ray; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, including Tawana McKnight.
